An email was sent to me from a Mac user with 3 jpg attachments that became embedded as thumbnail images in the message. The only way I could see the images from Outlook was to right click and save them to my workstation (which they would only do as bmp format) and then open them.

I tried forwarding the message to myself but the problem remained. I forwarded them to a user in our network that had Outlook 2007 using POP mail from a server other than our exchange server and they saw the images as attachments. I was also able to open them as attachments from my smartphone (Windows Mobile 6.1) using Mobile Outlook synched with my exchange server. This same user has sent a second email with attachments and this phenomenon occurred again.
