To connect an external hard drive, wire keyboard, Logitech mouse receiver and laptop cooler usb power, I bought this. Like the compact size, and there's on/off button next to each USB so one has the option to turn on only the USB slots one is using; plus each USB slot lights up when powered on so one can see at a glance if Hub slot is on. The electrical cord is good length and not a stingy shorty type.
